SUMMARY: This book shows the shape of many things in our lives such as "the shapes that chirp and tweet..." (birds).

ILLUSTRATIONS: The illustrations were created in mixed media. Many of the pages are very busy with a full page of objects. There is lots of color and high interest pictures.

REVIEW: I had mixed feelings about this book. On one hand it seemed to be a poetic and lyrical story that was heading somewhere that had to do with how much a parent loves a child. But I feel that if I didn't quite understand it, young children won't either. The story line seemed random. It went from--here are the birds and the sun--to this is what a mouth looks like and what would you like to eat? And all this was leading to: this is the shape of my heart with all these things around us inside of it. "And this is the shape I love you with." There are lots of pictures for little ones to look at and learn names of items, but some of the shapes are a bit abstract as well.
