This is a wonderful Christian read about three generations of women just trying to live. They had to fight through buried pain, family secrets and learn how to love again. It was a somewhat predictable but it is nice to have those books to believe in happy endings :) This is one of my favorite authors and she touched me again just as all her other books. I could not wait to get back to it to find out what was happening in Leota's life. The characters were wonderfully developed you really began to feel for the women and the men in the book. The mother is a hateful person that you really do despise throughout the book and the grandmother you can feel her pain and love for her family. The granddaughter is just full of love and light. This book was written wonderfully and you could get lost in the detail and "live the book" with the characters. I recommend it to anyone who needs a lift. :)

One of my favourite reads. Wanted to take this out to read for the 3rd time, but it's out.

Francine creates strong, memorable, but real characters. If you're looking for a good book to enjoy at the cottage, or beach take Leota's Garden along.

Once, many years ago, Leota's garden was a beautiful place. but now as she ages, Leota finds herself alone, both children ignoring her. Annie, her granddaughter, now an adult, decides its time she had a talk with her grandmother, seeing as she barely even saw her in her whole life. Auniversity student is trying to write a good report for his professor, which, unfortunately, means he must spend alot of time with Leota. Annie doesn't understand what her mother and uncle hate so much in this loving woman, but can she bring them to love Leota as she does before it is too late??
