Good book to promote discussion. In fact , it's the way the world should operate , and not just if kids ran the world ( in a perfect world---unfortunately ) But still a book that should certainly be read and discussed with the younger folk .Who knows , maybe the younger folk coming up will promote a better world !
The story is one of hypotheticals, of wishes. It gives hope, it gives agency to children as changemakers, as people with voices and dreams.
Topics highly relevant in our world today - the environment, human rights, housing, and community building - are included.
Not so into the advice of eating an elephant "one bite at a time" at the notes at the back of the book. The message though is important.
A lot of discussion at home or at school can come from this book of how to better the world for all.
