Watching Donald and Keifer Sutherland together is pure joy. Beautiful.

I enjoyed watching this one. Donald and Kiefer do a fine job of their characters. Michael Wincott as Dave Turner was cool. All the male characters were.

But, the best thing for me is that it was Made in Canada!!!!. CL Ranch, Springbank, Alberta, Canada to be exact. So, of course, the scenery was a treat to behold.

Looked to me like Kiefer certainly knows how to swing an axe and shovel besides the ubiquitous gun.

Demi Moore? Sorry, but the woman just is not an actor.

And, the ongoing complaint of mine . . . why do the wardrobe ladies persist in making the skirts of the female characters so long they trail the dusty grounds? How on earth did the women of that day manage to keep them clean???

Nice to see a western like this. Lack of a sheriff leaves it up to the people. Nicely done.

If you are looking for a Western fix, check this out. It is a pretty straight forward story that brought back the good old days: ruthless outlaws employed by a land grabber vs a town's prodigal son with a tortured past. The only character missing was a sheriff and his jail ... but there was a faithful preacher. Anyway, the son could have evolved to be the harmonica-playing gunman (Charles Bronson) in the 1968 epic "Once Upon a Time in the West." Last, if you remotely enjoy this, check out the 2015 "The Salvation."

Don't see too many westerns but this is a good one. Nice to see Demi Moore as well. As far as gun fighting goes the younger Sutherland ain't no Clint Eastwood.

The from the critics post is for something completely different.

hey, i liked this movie especially the Sutherlands - good acting and connection. demi moore good too. beautiful scenery. it was better than i thought it would be. would recommend!

You've seen this kind of western a hundred times before and most of them better. The Sutherlands were fine and Moore was okay but the rest was just a smelly pile of road apples.

This film takes some of the many tried and proven plots of the Western—homesteaders being bullied into selling to make way for the railroad; a gunslinger returns to his hometown to put down his guns; and others—and weaves them into an original story. It is full of genuine sentiment: the characters and scenarios are believable. Simply excellent!

The only reason I gave this western one star is for the Donald and Kiefer Sutherland. They are great together. The story had no depth, simply get a gang of bullies with guns together and kill people. I tried to find something I could like about this movie. I'm sorry I could not.

Well, well, well. If it ain't John Henry Clayton. I heard a lot about you. Name's Frank Tillman. Maybe you heard of me?
-Can't say as I have.
Well, I killed four men. Still don't ring a bell. How come you ain't wearing a gun? You go and... get religion or something?
Most men came out of that war wanting nothing more to do with killing, but not you... you went looking for it. God is not responsible for the life you choose.
There was no need for that. We were talking.
-It would appear the conversation's over now, Dave.
He was about to see reason.
-You actually ever kill anybody, Dave, or you just talk 'em to death?
They killed Daniel Peterson. I never thought they'd kill one of us.
- It's only gonna get worse.
What makes you say that?
-'Cause after the first one, it gets easier.
I can see what's in your eyes.
- Then you know what I gotta do.
You don't have to do anything.
- But we both know I will.

I'll say this, and I will say no more on the subject. The thought of coming back to you... was the only thing that got me through that damn war. And when it was over, I swear to you on my life, I tried coming home. I swore I was done with killing. She just wasn't done with me.
When you got a fox in the henhouse... only two things to do: Kill the fox or move the henhouse.
Do you think there's a place for men like us to go, get away from the killing?
-My experience would lead me to say no.
After the war I swore to myself I'd never pick up a gun again. You can't go through something like that and expect to be who you were.
God knows I could not turn the other cheek the way that you have. But... I also know if you kick a dog long enough, he's gonna bite.
Mary Alice, you need to go home and speak with your husband.
-He's gonna get himself killed. I don't want that for my boy. You know why he's doing this. To prove that he's as good as you are.
