The President Is Missing confronts a threat so huge that it jeopardizes not just Pennsylvania Avenue and Wall Street, but all of America. Uncertainty and fear grip the nation. There are whispers of cyberterror and espionage and a traitor in the Cabinet. Even the President himself becomes a suspect, and then he disappears from public view . . .
Set over the course of three days, The President Is Missing sheds a stunning light upon the inner workings and vulnerabilities of our nation. Filled with information that only a former Commander-in-Chief could know, this is the most authentic, terrifying novel to come along in many years.

This book started slow and finished preachy. I have always ejoyed Patterson in the past, even though I don't like his politics. Patterson always has a liberal bent; but this book is full of propaganda, especially the end. In short this book has too many pages, too much propaganda, and not enough plot.

This is my first Patterson book so I have nothing to compare it to. Because he co-authored it with Bill Clinton it is also difficult to judge. It is obvious former President Clinton contributed several elements only a president would know about, giving the book plausibility. I enjoyed reading this book and like several other critics, I read it rather quickly despite the 500 pages. I found it well written and devoid of long, often useless descriptions found in many novels. The authors keep us guessing throughout.

I had a hard time getting into this book but halfway through I wanted to know how it ended. It is quite relevant to what could happen today and how crippled we would be it there was a cyber attack. The speech at the end of the book given by the president is well worth the read.

I found the 1st half of the book dull and the other half exciting...cyberterrorism is pretty prevalent these days...spies and espionage not my thing

Excellent! By far the best thing Patterson has ever written. The President’s speech to Congress at the end is solid gold.

Meh... I was hoping for better. It was an okay read. All the politics and government stuff gets a little dull. A hero president who needs to save the world, but he's got a trader in his cabinet.
Who can he trust. Think 24, designated survivor, Jack Ryan.

A Dan Brown style adventure but easier to follow. Enjoyable, especially if you like political thrillers.

The entire novel is set into action predicated on an improbable and ludicrous premise that an idiotic President will go to extraordinary lengths to avoid Secret Service protection. Go along for the ride if you want (I did) but it is pure cotton-candy fluff.

After 30 or so pages I wasn’t getting enthralled. Mr. Clinton should stick to his lucrative talk circuit gig.

Fast paced, exciting and dramatic, but reads like a season of 24: I kept expecting Jack Bauer to put in an appearance. Sometimes heavy on the computer or IT mumbo jumbo. The novel has Patterson's writing flavor, but wonder who approached whom about co-authoring the book.

This book has to go down as one of my favorites of all time. It had me fully engaged from the very page. I could not put it down until I was done. The book was interesting because it was filled with political and philosophical dilemmas throughout. It made the reader think. It was a perfect blend of action, philosophy and politics.
