Add a CommentThis is one of my favourite movies. I love Toni Collette in this. I think that everyone has felt the same emotions, thought similar thoughts and behaved almost as ridiculously as Muriel at some point in their lives(even if they won't admit it:-)
It is not a comedy. There are funny moments but it mostly about Muriel desire to win and loss which follows. It has tragic moments, silly moments and this is the movie you have to watch till the end. It about fulfilling your dreams and how it turns out.
Such a funny movie, but also sad too. The ABBA music is a lot of fun, and Toni Collette is such a great actress. Highly recommend this movie!
Wonderful movie - great writing and acting. A different rhythm than American movies which is why some people probably had a challenge with it.
did not like this movie. This is a story about someone who supposedly changed but didn't. Cheeky smile, strange acting. Not worth it.
Not sure why I cant change the ratings but I would give this movie a ZERO!
Toni Collette's performance was the best part about the movie. Didn't particularly like the story line.
Amazing and brilliant, Muriel's Wedding is an absolute riot! I cannot watch this film enough, nor can I stop humming the melody to "dancing queen". One gawky, geeky young woman transforms again and again in this unflinching dramatic black comedy, eventually discovering herself in our murky, strange world. Incredible acting and amazing attention to color along with unending tributes to ABBA make this film a cult classic!
