Probably one of the best overall sewing reference books I've ever come across. Really clear photos give a wonderful step by step walkthrough of hundreds of sewing skills and techniques. It isn't going to provide you with ready made patterns but it will show you how to do pretty much anything you might need to do for other patterns, alterations, or sewing projects of your own. Found it useful enough to have ready on hand that I just bought my own copy.
