The only sentence that I liked in this 640 pages book was, "all she wanted was to be a true blue." Yes, Mace Perry comes out of prison where she served two years for a crime she believe she didn't commit. After that the book goes downhill all the way. Beth the police chief is Mace's sister and constantly cautions Mace to keep her hands clean. Mace, of course, does not listen to her as she feels that she can get reinstated in the police force by solving a murder case. The scenes described are totally unbelievable and don't produce the desired effect. All in all a very tiring read - not worth the effort.

I wasn't a big fan of the Camel Club series so I enjoyed this detour from it with new characters. I found one of the main characters irritating but that's probably because of her inmature behaviour and childish actions. Aside from that, interesting plot, fast pace, and good read

Clumsy prose; not always believable; but some nice details, fast-paced, and fairly entertaining

Written well enough that I read through to the end, although somewhat predictable...redeeming her reputation, government conspiracy etc

This was a good and simple read. I really enjoyed the story and characters. I've never read a Baldacci book before, but thought that his writing was very choppy except for when it came to the cop informative parts. Overall, it was good.
