Nine years ago, Jessie was in a car crash and died. After she was buried, she awoke and tore through the earth to arise, reborn, as a zombie. Now Jessie is part of a gang. They fight, hunt and dance together as one - something humans can never understand. There are dark places humans have learned to avoid, lest they run into zombie gangs. But when a mysterious illness threatens the existence of both zombies and humans, Jessie must choose between looking away or staring down the madness and hanging on to everything she now knows.

Very good, beautifully written. Adds a totally new perspective to the zombie lexicon. One reviewer compares these zombies to Rice's vampires; do not worry, they are nothing alike. Very different from the usual zombie attack from outer space, or caused by evil human scientists, or just left unexplained, or zombies vs good-hearted humans, most of the humans being flawed, and somewhat evil, or humans hiding on the zombie horde, which is going to literally rot away sooner or later. I like the evolution into a third species a great deal. Oddly for me, I think this would have been a much better story if told in two or even three parts, but then there are always prequels. Florian deserves his own book. Don't worry, this book is nothing like the horrible Twilight series, or Rice, as I've said. I hope Turner will write more, not necessarily on zombies, because she really can write.

This book doesn't make my favourites list but it was still good. I was intrigued with the fact that dead or alive, death is always a concern.

I'm sorry, I didn't really like this book. It was a bit too slow and I just could not feel for the main character (very much reminded me of Twilight in that way... as well as in other ways). I'd say it is more targeted towards younger audiences (13-17).

This book is not as good as 'Frail', but I still enjoyed it..I hope she writes and releases another one soon though because they are entertaining..
